Section 22-133 Application for building permit.
Prior to the adoption of 2005 (22-133 a) on 06/29/2005, Section 22-133 read as follows.
(a) All applications for building permits shall be accompanied by a site and building plan for the proposed project, drawn to scale, showing the actual dimensions of the lot to be built upon; the size of the building to be erected; the location of the building on the lot; the size and location of the lot; the number of dwelling units the building is designed to accommodate; the setback lines of buildings on adjoining lots; and such other information as may be essential for determining whether the provisions of this chapter are being observed. The site and building plan must be approved by the Planning Department before a building permit is issued.
(b) Within six months of the date of the approval of the site and building plan, the building permit must be issued at the request of the applicant, and an initial inspection of the proposed project must have been conducted within six months of the date the building permit is issued.
(c) If no building permit is issued within six months of the date of approval of the site and building plan, or if an initial inspection of the project is not conducted within six months of the date the building plan is issued, then, in either event, the building permit shall become void. Additionally, if during the course of the project, no inspection is called for or made within six months from the date the last inspection was made, the project shall be deemed to have been abandoned, and the building permit shall become void. Provided further, however, that a written extension or extensions for the inspections contemplated herein, not to exceed six months each, may be granted by the Planning Department.
(d) Once a building permit has become void under any provision of this section, a new application for a building permit must be made, to be accompanied by a new site and building plan, for approval. The new site and building plan must meet all Code requirements in effect at the time the new application for a building permit is made.
