Section 20-46 Created; membership; term; quorum.

Prior to the adoption of 2003(20-46) on 11/24/2003, Section 20-46 read as follows.

    (a)    There is hereby created the Thomasville Tree Committee, referred to throughout this  chapter as the committee, to consist of six (6) members, each such member to be appointed by the city council. Three (3) members shall be appointed from among five (5) nominees recommended by Thomasville Landmarks, Incorporated, two (2) members shall be appointed from citizens at large  and the city manager shall be appointed as the sixth member and designated as permanent chairman with voting privileges.

    (b)    The terms of the members of the committee shall be for two (2) years, except that in the  appointment of the first committee, under the terms of this article, each such term shall be for a period expiring December 31, 1979. Each committee member shall serve until his successor takes  office, and any vacancy shall be filled by appointment in the same manner as the original  appointment and for the unexpired term. The city council shall also have the authority to remove any member for cause.

    (c)    Three (3) committee members shall constitute a quorum.
