Prior to the adoption of 2002 (15-27) on 09/09/2002, Section 15-27 read as follows.

Any lots or land which are located within the residential  areas of the city, according to its zoning  plan and map, zones R-1A, R-1, R-2, shall be kept clean from any debris, weeds, undergrowth, brush, vegetation or other matter which, by reason of height, physical condition, filth or habitat for  reptiles, animals and insects, shall be unsanitary, unhealthy or hazardous for a distance of one  hundred fifty (150) feet from any occupied residence. The maximum number of times the owner  will be required to clear the underbrush from these lots is twice a year. This section shall not apply  to areas that have not been previously cleared and developed and are covered with a natural growth  of trees and/or underbrush which are not otherwise unsanitary or hazardous with the exception of lots that are within a city block which is more than ninety (90) percent developed. The underbrush shall be cleared sufficiently to allow a tractor mower (rotary bush type) to be used for the mowing.
