Section 13-125 Natural gas rates and rate structures
Prior to the adoption of 2000 (13-125) on 08/14/2000, Section 13-125 read as follows.
The schedule of rates, fees and charges is on file in the city clerk's office and the administrative offices of the water and light department.
(1) Tapping fees; equipment allowance.
a. The applicant for installation, relocation and/or reconnection of all classes of gas service shall have his residence or place of business piped for the use of natural gas and the piping extended to a point, outside the building, satisfactory to the gas department as a meter location in consideration of the tapping fee which shall be paid to the water and light department in advance, the city will do all or any part remaining to be done of the following:
1. Tap the gas main;
2. Extend service pipe to meter location;
3. Furnish and set meter and regulator; and
4. Attach to customer's piping.
For this service the following schedule of prices shall apply: The estimated total cost of installation, relocating and/or reconnecting the service including labor, material, meters, regulators, etc.
b. Equipment in service at the time will be reused to the extent that it meets present standards of safety and usefulness, but no allowance will be made for equipment previously removed or currently unusable. The water and light department will be the sole judge of safety and usefulness of old equipment.
(2) Gas residential service. Gas residential service shall be applicable to residential service when supplied through one (1) meter to each individual residence or apartment.
(3) Gas general service. Gas general service shall be applicable to commercial or firm industrial customers and multiple-family dwellings or apartment buildings where service is taken through one (1) meter. No gas may be resold or transmitted to other premises.
(4) Gas industrial service. Gas industrial service shall be applicable to nonresidential customers having facilities permitting the use of gas on interruptible basis and whose usage is sufficient to qualify for this service, provided the city has available from its supplier an adequate supply of gas to meet the customer's requirements. No gas may be resold or transmitted to other premises.
(5) Gas surplus service. Gas surplus service shall be applicable to last-on, first-off non- space heating customers where service is taken through one (1) meter. No gas may be resold or transmitted to other premises.
