The City of Thomasville is now accepting applications for the position of Police Officers through August 1st. Georgia certification is preferred, though not required. Applicants must be at least 21, possess a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver’s license and able to pass a criminal background and physical fitness assessment test to apply.
This position will perform traditional duties, including, patrolling specific districts by foot or automobile, handling public complaints, arresting violators of the law, responding to accidents, issuing the necessary summons or tickets when appropriate, preparing/compiling reports and maintaining police records. Additionally, Thomasville Police Officers are required to participate in Community Oriented Policing programs that will require extensive interaction with the community.
Excellent benefits! Starting pay, for uncertified Police Officer, is $24,635 and GA Certified Police Officers w/no experience is $28K+. Additional pay increases are given for experience, education and special assignments.

OPERATOR III - WASTEWATER TREATMENT
Employee will be assigned to the Wastewater Treatment Area. Areas of responsibility will include but are not limited to the Operation and Maintenance of the Water Pollution Control Plant and CAT Industrial Pretreatment Areas. Employee must have a strong mechanical aptitude and ability to work independently or as a team member. Must be able to work in inclement weather as well as confined spaces when required. Will be on call after training period. Some Holidays and weekend shifts. Employee must have a Class 3 Wastewater Certification or ability to obtain within one year of employment.
Starting salary is $10.96/hr. Closing date is August 1st.
