POLICE OFFICER

The City of Thomasville is now accepting applications for the position of Police Officers through January 2nd.  Georgia certification is preferred, though not required.  Applicants must be at least 21, possess a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver’s license and able to pass a criminal background and physical fitness assessment test to apply. 

This position will perform traditional duties, including, patrolling specific districts by foot or automobile, handling public complaints, arresting violators of the law, responding to accidents, issuing the necessary summons or tickets when appropriate, preparing/compiling reports and maintaining police records.  Additionally, Thomasville Police Officers are required to participate in Community Oriented Policing programs that will require extensive interaction with the community.

Excellent benefits! Starting pay, for uncertified Police Officer, is $24,635 and GA Certified Police Officers w/no experience is $28K+. Additional pay increases are given for experience, education and special assignments.

CUSTOMER CARE SPECIALIST I - Customer Care

Candidate will be responsible for the effective resolution of customer inquiries and complaints concerning Utilities, Rosenet, and/or CNS services received in writing, via email or by phone.  Should possess comprehensive knowledge of products and services.  Must possess comprehensive knowledge of and ability to assist Internet customers with access problems, e-mail problems and other issues related to the Internet products.  Must have excellent communications skills and must be able to work well in fast paced environment.

Starting salary is $10.15/hr.  Closing date is December 31st.

 

CIVIL TECH II - ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT

The person in this position provides engineering support in any process being conducted within the city or the public sector such as street paving, water, gas, stormwater, erosion control, driveways and sanitary sewer projects.

Will be responsible for deed searches and property sketches; responsible for drafting duties that involve plotting both survey and construction information on Plan and Profile sheets; will perform survey related horizontal/vertical control for cross sections and profiles and will keep a set of field notes and daily diary of work performed.

Candidate must have considerable knowledge surveying, staking and mathematics (to include trigonometry and geometry); must be familiar with Windows, MS Office, ESRI/ArcGIS and AutoCAD; should be able to communicate effectively and efficiently with the public, engineers, and contractors; must be able to work independently and capable of making minor decisions in the field and should have at least (2) years of experience as a Civil Technician I or equivalent

Starting salary is $11.84/hr.  Closing date is January 2nd.
