EQUIPMENT OPERATOR/CDL - PUBLIC WORKS
Person in this position works in street/sidewalk construction and maintenance and is required to have a CDL driver’s license in order to operate equipment necessary to accomplish job. Candidate must have experience operating equipment, such as, backhoes and trenchers and must be able to follow oral and written instructions. Candidate will assume on-call duties after completing a training period.
Starting salary is $10.96/hr. Closing date is Wednesday, April 23rd.

Georgia Certified Firefighter and Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification preferred. The successful candidate who is hired without previous experience will be trained by in-house personnel and will undertake the Basic Firefighter Training Course at the Georgia Fire Academy in Forsyth, Georgia. At the Fire Academy, students will be tested mentally and physically in stages throughout the course delivery to ensure competence and ability at the most basic levels of firefighting.

ASSISTANT CITY ENGINEER - Engineering
The City of Thomasville, GA, located in southeast Georgia approximately 35 miles from Tallahassee, Florida, is looking for an Asst. City Engineer to assist with all aspects of the city’s civil engineering functions. This position assists City Engineer providing management and leadership for the Engineering Department. Independently applies extensive and diversified knowledge of principles and practices in broad areas of assignments and related fields while working closely with the City Engineer and other staff members in the design and construction management of a wide range of municipal projects. This position will be responsible for a major project and multiple projects of moderate scope with complex features.
Ideal candidates will have knowledge of Municipal, Public Works and Utility Engineering and construction standard techniques and procedures. Good communications and organizational skills a must. Candidate should be Licensed in the State of Georgia or able to obtain same within 6 months of hire. Candidate must have 6+ years of progressive experience and be a graduate from a four year accredited Engineering School.
