FIREFIGHTER

Thomasville Fire Rescue is accepting applications for the position of Firefighter.  Applicants must be at least 18 years of age and have a high school diploma. Benefits include incentive pay for EMT and Hazmat Certification. Candidates must be professional, customer-focused and work well within a team environment.  Females and minorities are urged to apply.

Georgia Certified Firefighter and Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification preferred.  Applicants who are hired without previous experience or certifications will receive basic firefighter training through the Department Training Division and will be required to successfully complete the Basic Firefighter Training Course at the Georgia Fire Academy in Forsyth, Georgia.  At the Fire Academy, students will be tested mentally and physically in stages throughout the course delivery to ensure competence and ability at the most basic levels of firefighting.

CUSTOMER ACCOUNTS REP I - Customer Care

This position requires a thorough knowledge of the computerized billing system, utilities metering and meter reading practices, utilities routes, rules, regulations, and billing procedures; the ability to work well with figures and analyze consumption patterns, detect irregularities and operate office machines including a data entry terminal and personal computer. Must communicate effectively with customers both orally and in writing and must be able to follow a problem from its inception to solution in a timely manner. This position may provide support to the utilities credit and collection function and the Customer Care Representatives as staffing and time allow.

 Closing date is Friday, June 5th.  Starting salary is $10.35/hr.
