THOMASVILLE FIRE RESCUE CHIEF
Applications for the position of Fire Rescue Chief are being accepted. The ideal candidate will be a highly skilled fire professional with significant experience in fire fighting and fire rescue operations. The Fire Chief performs highly responsible managerial, administrative and technical work in fire suppression, prevention and training. This position reports to the City Manager
The selection process for Fire Rescue Chief will include the submission of an application, proof of education, credentials and a letter of intent. (Detailed information is listed below.) Eligible candidates will be interviewed by a panel of fire professionals along with representatives from HR. The City Manager will interview candidates after critical recommendations and feedback are received from the assessment team.

Interested candidates must provide the following:
- Must be a high school graduate or the equivalent. Candidate must have extensive Fire Service training in various fields. Minimum requirements include, but are not limited to, Fire Officer 2 certification (Fire Officer 4 is preferred), EMT or Paramedic certification, NPQ Hazardous Materials Technician certification, NPQ Instructor 2 certification or Instructor Training, NFPA 101-Life Safety Codes certification. A college degree, preferably in the field of science or public administration, is preferred.
- Minimum of 10 – 15 years experience in Firefighting, Fire Service Training, and related work (5 years as a Captain or above). A fire service training background along with fire administrative experience is preferred.
EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT – CITY MANAGER’S OFFICE
The City of Thomasville is seeking an Executive Assistant to support the City Manager and City Council. Key responsibilities includes general administrative duties, monitoring annual budgets, working closely with city employees, interacting with state/elected officials and preparing meeting agendas for council meetings. Must become familiar with city policies/procedures and departmental operations. Supervises the City Clerk.
Qualified candidates must be able to multi-task, deal effectively with the public, and possess excellent oral and written communications skills; 6-7 years in clerical/administrative management. HSD/GED required; equivalent of a two-year degree preferred.

GA CERTIFIED FIREFIGHTER - THOMASVILLE FIRE RESCUE
Thomasville Fire Rescue is accepting applications for the position of GA State Certified Firefighter only. Prospective Firefighters must be at least 18 years of age and have a high school diploma. Incentive pay for EMT and Hazmat Certification. Candidates must be professional, customer-focused and work well within a team environment. Females and minorities are urged to apply.

ENGINEER IV
This is a mid-level Engineering position having recently acquired or able to acquire professional license within 12 months. This position applies broad knowledge of principles and practices in Civil Engineering while working closely with the City Engineer and other staff members in the design and construction management of a wide range of paving, drainage and utility projects. This position will be responsible for multiple projects of moderate size or portions of major projects. It requires teamwork and a desire to develop as a professional and leader.
Ideal candidates will have knowledge of Municipal, Public Works and Utility Engineering and construction standard techniques and procedures. Good communications and organizational skills a must. Candidate should have passed the Fundamentals of Engineering Exam, be registered as an Engineer Intern and have the ability to obtain Professional Licensure in the State of Georgia within 12 months of hire. Candidate must be a graduate from a four year accredited Engineering School
Starting salary is $50,189.00. Closing date is May 24th.
